Welcome to the Journal

Sometimes faith is loud. Sometimes it’s a whisper in the dark. This space was created for both.

Here, I share what I’m learning in the Word, in my walk with Jesus, and in the everyday intersections of faith, culture, leadership, and calling. Some entries are deep dives into Scripture. Others are heart spills from the frontlines of ministry, and others are just realizations from the messy middle. I don’t have all the answers—but I do have questions, stories, and a deep desire to follow Jesus well.

My prayer is that these words help you know God more deeply, wrestle through the hard questions honestly, and find hope that anchors you in truth.

You have one Job: Guard

You have one Job: Guard

When God called the Levites and consecrated them for service, He was clear about their purpose. They weren’t just assigned duties or given a title — they were set apart to represent Him, His people, and His temple. As I read Numbers 3:5-13, one word keeps repeating...

When “Called” Isn’t Enough

When “Called” Isn’t Enough

These are the generations of Aaron and Moses at the time when the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai. 2 These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. 3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed...

A Disciplined People

A Disciplined People

As Christians, how we settle, how we war, how we camp, and who we surround ourselves with matters in the order of things. The way we structure our lives (our rhythms, our relationships, our worship) reveals what and who sits at the center of our hearts. God doesn’t...

When Obedience Feels Like Risk

When Obedience Feels Like Risk

Yesterday I finally shared publicly about the new book — after being a little hidden and MIA for a while — and the response was incredible. So much encouragement, so much love, so many kind words. And I panicked. Not because I’m worried about sales. Not because I’m...

When Sacrifice Becomes Disobedience

When Sacrifice Becomes Disobedience

Leviticus 17:1-6 is one of those passages that most of us breeze past. Sacrificing goats in fields? Cool, Old Testament Israel, do your thing. But tucked in this ancient text is a principle I think we desperately need today. God told Israel, “If anyone kills an ox,...

When the Word Feels Weird…

When the Word Feels Weird…

Nothing is more demoralizing than waking up early, craving a word from God, hoping to open your Bible and be deeply encouraged… only to realize: 1. You’re still in Leviticus. 2. You’ve landed in the bodily discharge chapter. So you read it — because you love Jesus —...
