Welcome to the Journal
Sometimes faith is loud. Sometimes it’s a whisper in the dark. This space was created for both.
Here, I share what I’m learning in the Word, in my walk with Jesus, and in the everyday intersections of faith, culture, leadership, and calling. Some entries are deep dives into Scripture. Others are heart spills from the frontlines of ministry, and others are just realizations from the messy middle. I don’t have all the answers—but I do have questions, stories, and a deep desire to follow Jesus well.
My prayer is that these words help you know God more deeply, wrestle through the hard questions honestly, and find hope that anchors you in truth.
Sorry Isn’t the Same as Repentance
The beauty of the story of Deuteronomy is that Moses is telling the next generation what not to do. And this next version of what not to do could change everything if they actually take heed to it. Israel has seen the promise and panicked. They saw the land, they...
Tasting Isn’t Trusting
Hi, it’s me… still in Deuteronomy. I’ve been sitting here longer than I expected, reading slowly, peeling back layers, letting the text speak instead of rushing through it. This morning, Deuteronomy 1:19–32 was in front of me, and it stopped me in a way I didn’t see...
On The Edge of Promise
I started reading the Old Testament, the Torah, Genesis through Deuteronomy, in the fall of 2025. And yes, I am still in it. Not because I am stuck, but because I am lingering. I have learned to read Scripture in layers. First, I read big chunks to understand the...
When the Promise Is in Front of You, but Not for You
There is something deeply human about Moses in Deuteronomy. The book itself reads like a final conversation, a last sermon from a leader who knows his time is almost over. Moses is speaking to the next generation of Israel, the generation that will finally step into...
They Are Bread For Us
When you read the Bible, it is rare to see someone respond to a giant the way David does. He looks at Goliath and basically says, “Yeah, he’s big. Totally scary. But my God is bigger and stronger. Let’s do this!” Ever since I was a kid, everyone has used David’s story...
When You Don’t Make It to the Tent
There are moments in Scripture that feel quietly disruptive, not loud miracles, not dramatic rescues, but holy interruptions that reshape how we understand God’s nearness. Numbers 11:16–30 is one of those moments. Moses is exhausted. The weight of leadership is heavy,...
The Storm of Perspective
Numbers 5:1–4 is one of those passages that can make a tender heart flinch. People being sent outside the camp. Illness, impurity, messiness. It can look like God is removing people from His presence. And if you have ever been misunderstood, falsely accused, or swept...
‘Still Waters’ Flash
There are stories that you write, and stories that write you. For me, tattoos have always been both. Each one marks a season, a lesson, a storm survived. They’re not just art on skin—they’re coordinates on the map of who I’ve become. The penmanship of those I love....
Order Before Overflow
As I’ve been walking through Numbers, I’ve been struck by how often the word “list” appears. In Numbers 3:14–51, God instructs Moses to count the Levites, assign duties, designate roles, and list every name, family, and function. At first glance, it seemed tedious,...
