“The storm was never meant to sink you. It was meant to sanctify you. God doesn’t waste the wind. He uses it to shape the soul. In the chaos, He calls us deeper, not just to survive the waves, but to walk on them.”
– Chari Orozco, Still Waters Don’t Make Saints –
About the Book
Still Waters Don’t Make Saints is a 21-day devotional for storm-weathered souls and for those walking through pain, transition, loss, or spiritual exhaustion.
Written in the middle of personal upheaval, this devotional isn’t about avoiding the waves. It’s about meeting God in them. Each day guides you through one of the storms in Scripture, offering raw reflection, honest prayers, and practical spiritual practices for real-life chaos.
Whether you’re facing grief, fear, rejection, shame, or are just holding on by a thread, this is a space to breathe, to wrestle, and to remember that God still speaks in the storm.
Storms aren’t meant to be faced alone.
I didn’t write Still Waters Don’t Make Saints to be prolific or to pad my author bio. I wrote it to resource the Bride — to throw out life rafts for those drowning in transition, grief, pain, or spiritual weariness.
So along with the book, I’ve created a few free resources to help you unpack these truths with your people — whether that’s your family around the table, your small group at church, or your coworkers over lunch break.
Here’s what’s available to download:
-
6-Week Small Group Guide — Walk through storms together with Scripture, discussion questions, and reflection prompts.
-
4-Week Sermon Series — Built for churches who want to go deeper as a community and anchor their people in biblical truth. The Series includes Sermon Roadmaps & a full graphics Package.
Use them at home. Use them in your church. Use them in your living room or on your lunch break. Just don’t walk through the storm alone.
Even wild waters can become holy ground, when we walk through them together.
“There are voices that preach from platforms, and then there are voices like Chari’s, formed in the hidden places, refined by storms, and anchored in lived experience.
Still Water Don’t Make Saints isn’t just a devotional; it’s a companion for the fiercest battles of the soul. These words aren’t theory. They’ve been walked out, wrestled through, and soaked in prayer.
This devotional is for the weary, the wondering, and the ones still wading through. It will meet you in the middle and gently, powerfully, walk you toward healing, hope, and holy formation. Chari has lived these words. And because she has, we can trust them.

” Chari lives in a rhythm that’s rare—nurtured by quiet surrender and prayer, yet showing up in the world with boldness and passion. Her life is marked by both vulnerability and deep conviction, and she carries the weight of her platform with humility, honoring God and people in every step.
Still Waters Don’t Make Saints is a reflection of her journey—honest, raw, and full of grace. These pages will stir your soul and remind you that true transformation often begins in the struggle.”

“The voice you hear in the pages of “Still Waters Don’t Make Saints” is the same one I’ve witnessed in Chari’s life—honest, compassionate, marked by integrity and her commitment to Christ.
This devotional carries the weight of both wisdom and experience.”
KRISTIN LIPSCOMB Executive Director of Ministries, Liberty Church
“Who knew you could find so much treasure amongst the storms of life? Chari helps us find gold in deep and dark waters through revelation, clarity, and biblical insight. Chari doesn’t just talk about what to do with the storms of life, she walks us practically though them. She’s allowed the storms of life to shape her, and now we get to eat the redemptive fruit from lessons she’s learned..it’s barely fair.
This book is a flashlight in the dark night, a compass to the one feeling a little lost, and hope for the weary soul.
Thank you Chari for putting these words on paper. It’s a privilege to know you and an honor to walk with you. Carry on good friend.”

This devotional is one marked by honesty, healing, and hope. Each page is filled with Scripture-rich insights and Spirit-led encouragement that speak directly to the heart.
Whether you’re navigating a season of storms or seeking fresh joy in your faith, this devotional will help you anchor your soul in the unchanging love of God. Chari’s voice is one this generation needs. “
