WHEN THE PRIEST SAYS, “COME HERE…”

I’ve been sitting with this chapter for four days — not because it’s comforting, but because it’s weird. Leviticus 13 is basically a holiness manual with a deep dive into leprosy. Honestly? It took some serious unpacking (and Googling) to figure out what we’re supposed to get from this besides: don’t get leprosy.

So let’s unpack this in bite-sized morsels. Here’s what struck me first: Leviticus 13:2 says when someone had a suspicious swelling, rash, or spot, they didn’t self-diagnose — they came to the priest. Even then, God built in community, accountability, and spiritual discernment for His people. Today, we still do the same — but even better. We come to our High Priest, Jesus (Hebrews 4:15–16). We don’t try to manage our mess alone. We don’t hide the spot and hope it goes away. We bring it into the light — because our High Priest doesn’t just inspect… He heals.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE: bring Him your swelling heart, your raw wound, your hidden spot. He still sees. He still cares. He still cleanses. (1 John 1:9)

Onward,
